To find a fiction book, you need to know the first 3 letters of the author's last name.
For instance, if I wanted to find Harry Potter and the Socerer's Stone, I would need to know the call number (which is the book's location address): FIC ROW. FIC stands for Fiction and ROW are the first three letters to J. K. Rowling's last name. |
Non-Fiction |
The ORR HS uses a system called the Dewey Decimal System to organize books in an orderly fashion. All of the sections of non-fiction have a call number of at least three digits (sometimes more) from 000 to 999. There are 10 major classes that each represent different areas of knowledge.

For instance, if I wanted to find a book on Football, I would need to go through 3 separate classes to find the 3 digital number:

Fortunately, our library catalog already has this information! Therefore, a quick look up of an author, title, series, or subject are just a few clicks away!
